Brief description:
The start-up team develops, manufactures and distributes a novel ablation catheter for treatment of atrial fibrillation, the heart rhythm disturbance occurring most frequently worldwide. The AFreeze intracardiac catheter uses cold energy (cryoablation) and an innovative steering mechanism. On the one hand it allows a much faster and gentler treatment of atrial fillibration than presently available therapie do. On the other hand treatment becomes even more effective and safer.

CAST’s tasks:

• Support in the pre-start-up phase
• Strategic patent consultancy
• Support in the generation of the business plan
• Funding of the prototype-development and first preclinical studies together with Life Science Austria (LISA) Preseed Programme
• Support for follow-up funding
